The IT Actuarial Services group is looking for a Sr. IT Systems Analyst with a strong technical aptitude for problem solving without a handbook in a server and distributed computing environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent SA skills, some database experience, strong power shell or scripting skills, capacity planning expertise, some data analytics, infrastructure support and/or design knowledge (SAS is preferred) and strong hands-on storage management experience. Since the Actuarial Services team supports critical backend data and monthly proces! sing, some after hrs and/or on call duties will be required.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a dedicated technical team of contractors responsible for maintaining all aspects of the Genworth enterprise Grid environment.
- Act as a key technology resource in all aspects of Actuarial solutions implementation projects, including planning, design, testing, and deployment.
- Proactively identify opportunities for improving the Actuarial systems environments, including monitoring, capacity planning, governance and controls, and efficiency or for leveraging it in new ways to better serve our customers, and initiate projects to that end.
- Build strong working relationships with a diverse group of business partners and act as the primary point of contact for infrastructure-related technical issues.
- Optimize the Actuarial systems environments with respect to data access methods, access performance, storage, data integrity, system performance and system availability.
- Work with applicati! on developers and other infrastructure teams to optimize and efficiently integrate applications into the Grid Server environment, while at the same time maintaining solid structural integrity and performance.
- Serve as primary technical liaison for the Grid community and the application vendors and external support agencies to ensure timely, accurate solutions/plans for opportunities such as upgrades, technical problems and solutions.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for the Actuarial systems environment, including detailed design documents, build procedures, and technical support guidelines.
- Demonstrate exceptional ability in diagnosing and solving information system problems while maintaining professionalism and courtesy.
- MUST BE CUSTOMER FACING and demonstrate the willingness to proactively work with the Grid Community to create solid technical solutions and meaningful metrics.
- Strong consultative and communication skills required for sociali! zing technical concepts and building consensus.
- Demonstrated ability and experience implementing large-scale, complex distributed systems.
- Must have the ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines and concentrate on detailed information in a fast-paced, demanding work environment. Basic management of small tactical projects may be required.
- Strong team player with ability to manage multiple high priority tasks simultaneously.
- Strong working knowledge of server hardware, storage solutions, network and desktop architecture.
- Strong Data Analysis experience using advanced Excel, pivot tables, Macros and Visual basic.
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field, such as Math or Engineering
- 4+ years of IT experience.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and business concepts (ie. Continuous learning, Professional Certifications)
- Exposure to enterprise IT environments, strong u! nderstanding of network and infrastructure topology and IT ecosystems.
- Due to the nature of this role, occasional weekend, late-night and even all-night work may be required.
- Experience supporting actuarial applications.
- 2+ years of solid Grid Server administration and engineering, with a specialty in Microsoftâs HPC solution, Data Synapse Grid Server and/or GGY AXIS GridLink.
- Ability to be flexible and easily adapt to multiple different work assignment types/projects based on business needs (ie. Lead Projects, Technical SME, System Architect, and/or Developer)
- Ability to break down and understand complex business processes as it relates to functions like Product Development, Finance, Actuarial, Investments, Risk, etc
- Ability to apply technology solutions in order to solve complex business problems
