Job Summary
Technicians are the k! ey to keeping our business rolling! That is why Waste Management, an industry leader in waste and environmental solutions, is seeking motivated, skilled heavy-duty Truck Technicians to work in our shops. Our truck technicians enjoy a professional, clean, and well-organized work environment that supports our team atmosphere. Working under limited supervision, a Waste Management truck technician performs preventative maintenance, runs inspections, diagnostics tests, and repairs a variety of vehicles and equipment. Our truck technicians utilize computer diagnostics and work with fleet maintenance software programs to document part usage, account for repair time, and more.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The team atmosphere we mentioned above is critical to the success of our shops! Our technicians work closely with operations, and may be called upon to make road calls and assist in emergency situations on a route. Waste Management technicians pride themselve! s on doing the work right the first time and we look for this ! same sense of personal ownership of work when considering new members for our team. We also offer on-the-job training and encourage continuous learning and higher education to keep skills up to date.

There may be the opportunity for overtime, as well as weekend and/or holiday work. Since our technicians are working with heavy equipment in a shop environment, it is required that they be able to push, pull, drag, and lift items up to 50 pounds, and occasionally must work at shoulder level with equipment weighing up to 25 pounds. Technicians are expected to obtain a CDL license within 6 months of hire.

Must be at least 21 years of age or older

Legally eligible to work in the United States

A. Education and Experience

2 (two) yea! rs of experience working on heavy trucks and diesel engines

Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Valid Class A or B CDL or willingness to obtain one

C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) drug screen, background and motor vehicle records check

Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations

Ability to work full time including overtime as needed

  • Provide analytical support for maintenance of and/or recommendation and implementation of improvements to administrative processes.
  • Provide analytical support in policy/program/plan design and monitoring of performance to ensure that policies/programs/plans encourage and support appropriate participant behaviors.
  • Identify and recommend policy and process modifications as necessary
  • Identify and articulate administrative or system issues and! provide recommended solutions, based on the analysis of issue source and related factors. As assigned, oversee implementation of solutions approved by the appropriate management resource.
  • Responsible for issue resolution and program improvements, i.e., rectifies simple to moderate program issues independently
  • Complete periodic reporting related to plans/programs including management reports detailing past and projected plan activity and financial impacts.
  • Financial Wellness Initiative: Serve as the coordinator of all financial wellness activities with our vendor and store locations. Activities typically include the development of presentation content with vendor and the coordination of store meetings or webinars with each location.
Vendor Management:
  • Assist in the management of the relationship and activities of benefit plan vendor/partners to ensure outstanding customer service and accurate and efficient administra! tion in accordance with policy/plan design and legal requirements.

Communications, Customer Service and Associate Outreach:
  • Provide exceptional customer service for Associates, internal staff, management, and vendors/partners.
  • Serve as central point of contact for incoming leaves related Associate issues. Analyze issues and engage with internal departments as appropriate for each issue. Coordinate with each department to ensure timely and accurate resolution. Communicate and coordinate with external stakeholders on the resolution and it’s execution.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of Associate and other communications related to leaves or benefits to educate Associates.
Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships:
  • Partner with department Analysts to regularly monitor and analyze program costs and competitive practices to ensure the maximization of the value achieved with benefit plan dollars spent.
  • Perform benchmarking and other research in ! the development and monitoring of existing and proposed policies/plans to ensure competitive product offerings and alignment with company objectives.

Job Description:
