The Annual Fund Manager is responsible fo! r implementing and managing a comprehensive Annual Giving Program in Virginia that focuses on increasing the number of individual donors giving repeatable, unrestricted and/or budget relieving gifts including those at Presidentsâ Council levels of $1,000+. The ideal candidate is a strategic, energetic, motivated, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and a professional image. A strong results orientation and proven individual fundraising experience are a must. This individual has the ability to work enthusiastically, help promote a collaborative team environment, and work well with key volunteers, board members, and program and development teams. This individual also needs to be comfortable with providing solutions and advancing new ideas in order to build greater community awareness and grow overall support for the mission of Easter Seals UCP North Carolina & Virginia. This position reports to the Annual Fund Director.
Qualifications! : College degree: B.A. or B.S. in business, communications! or marketing or equivalent work experience; Proven track record of helping implement an effective and comprehensive annual fund program; Seasoned annual fund manager (3-5 years) with creative communications and marketing experience; Successful individual and donor advised fund identification, cultivation and solicitation; Demonstrated success in working with staff, families served, Board members, key donors and volunteers, community leaders and service organizations to promote our mission, vision and funding needs to prospective donors; Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining regular and consistent contact with individual and donor advised fund prospects; Experience and success with keeping multi-level projects on track including telemarketing, mail programs and personal solicitations and renewals; Ability to quickly assimilate the broad duties and unique perspectives of various functional groups and understand how each contributes to the success of a project; A! bility to manage multiple tasks with a corresponding capability to assess the broader picture; Knowledge of/ connection with the Virginia business and social communities; Ability to work with varied personalities and styles; A high degree of responsibility, initiative, professionalism, and follow-up; Positive and outgoing personality; Excellent oral, written and presentation skills; Ability to offer Annual Fund Director and other Development management honest and direct feedback; Self-starter able to work independently with little or no supervision
Responsibilities
Work Activities:
Help develop and implement the Annual Fund program in Virginia that includes identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of individual prospects and donors; Solicit gifts from individual donors, families served, staff, volunteers and friends through personal solicitations, telemarketing, employee giving and mail programs for the Annual Fund; Identify, cu! ltivate and solicit prospects/ donors for Presidentsâ Council gifts o! f $1,000 -10,000; Use Development database to retrieve and evaluate donor data; Work closely with other Development staff in Richmond to ensure coordination with their respective fundraising efforts; Ensure the proper acknowledgment and recognition of all annual fund gifts in Virginia; Coordinate and work with the Richmond Special Events Director, Senior Director of Development, Development Advisory Council members, Presidentsâ Council members, volunteers, consumer parents and staff on individual and donor advised fund cultivation and solicitation; Lead consistent individual donor stewardship efforts which include timely follow-up calls, personal visits, mailings, preparation of special stewardship items and regional stewardship events; Help ensure that volunteers receive excellent training to be passionate and well prepared Easter Seals UCP ambassadors in Virginia; Assist Annual Fund Director in evaluating the Annual Fund programâs effectiveness; Help create and effect! ively manage regional budget for annual fund revenue and expenses, marketing materials and email campaigns; Attend regional program team meetings to maintain rapport with the Virginia program staff; Work closely with assigned Easter Seals UCP Community Directors; Help promote and market events and planned giving opportunities internally and externally; Other events and duties as assigned
