More complete informations about this career opportunity please read the description below. The Quality Assurance Senior Analyst is a leadership position. It is responsible for leading all aspects of the system test life cycle including managing the schedule and pr! iority of testing efforts, designing, developing, executing, and maintaining test plans, test cases and test methodologies that ensure exhaustive testing of all assigned applications. Additional responsibilities include: managing defects, communicating issues, documenting test results, generating reports, defining testing strategies and reviewing documentation and managing large test projects. Senior members are also expected to provide technical, product and process guidance to other QA team members.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, Execute, Maintain Test Plans and Communicate Defects:

• Serves as a primary technical resource
• Identifies, documents and coordinates the setup of complex environments for testing operations
• Creates and maintains system test project documentation
• Leads system test events at the project level
• Plans, develops, and executes system and regression level testing sce! narios on multiple platforms
• Actively participates in! sizing and planning exercises
• Accurately estimates tasks and assignments
• Accurately tracks and reports testing progress and project status
• Records defects completely and accurately
• Develop test data, execute test scripts and analyze results for validity and clarity
• Effectively communicates ideas, strategic insight, process improvements and QA standards
• Manages multiple concurrent activities and resources according to priorities
• Leads and manages problem resolution discussions

Continuous Improvement:

• Proactively leads process improvements and productivity initiatives
• Provides feedback to peers and management on identified areas of improvement

Customer Interaction/Business & Technical Knowledge:

• Interact with the customer and demonstrate an advanced understanding of the testing strategies and plans for a given project
• Actively partici! pate in design reviews and testing assessments
• Trains and supports team members on software testing principles
• Trains and supports team members on CarMax systems
• Demonstrate an understanding of the test management tools such as Quality Center and Quick Test Professional
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and QA’s role within IT

Maintain Standards and Best Practices:

• Manages the QA test lab to ensure the facility is ready for system test(s)
• Refines, promotes and enforces Quality Assurance standard operating procedures

• Ability to document and communicate status of assignments, test results and initiatives
• Effectively collaborates with project team and organizes project level testing
• Effectively communicates ideas, strategic insight, process improvements and QA standa! rds
• Expert knowledge of IT and the roles and functions they support
• Proficient in the CarMax Software Development Life Cycle
• Builds strong relationships while minimizing conflicts

• Ability to manage multiple concurrent activities and resources based on priorities

• Possess strong organizational and time management skills and flexibility to manage multiple business priorities
• Knowledge of basic UNIX commands and file system environments

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• 5 years with Software Development Life Cycle required
• 3 years as a Analyst II - QA or equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
