- 1. Performs and documents a complete physical assessment for patients within PCUs Scope of Care. *2. Analyzes pertinent! data, communicates findings, and documents information.
- 3. Utilizes equipment and performs procedures competently as related to PCUs Scope of Care. *4. Organizes and prioritizes nursing care for a routine patient care assignment on PCU.
- 5. Administers all medications following the 5 rights of medication administration. *6. Initiates and documents discharge planning and patient teaching involving the patient/significant other in collaboration with multidisciplinary team members.
- 7. Acquires and maintains current knowledge pertinent to nursing practice in critical care. *8. Makes decisions for unit when in Charge Nurse role; accepts responsibility.
- 9. Communicates effectively with peers, supervisors, ancillary department and others. * THOSE SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS WITH AN (*) ARE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS CONSIDERED NECESSARY TO ACCOMPLISH THIS JOB.
