Description: STV Inc. is at present recruited Civil Engineering Specialist right now, this position will be assigned in Virginia. More details about this position opportunity please read the description below. We currently have an opening in our Richmond, VA office for an Engineering Specialist for our RWA division. Successful candidate will be capable of performing engineering calculations with super! vision. Individual shall have demonstrated experience in following standard techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related design tasks. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices and utilizes independent judgment in completing day-to-day project work producing technical deliverables for bridges, structures and other associated transportation engineering projects. Primary responsibilities include assisting with design as well as generating technical details for construction documents. Current contracts requiring additional Civil/Structural Engineering support include the VRE Hamilton to Crossroads Third Track, Atlee Road Bridge, VDOT Hardy Road Bridge, VDOT Rte. 43 Bridge and Rte. I-95 Bridge over Meherrin River.
Required Skills
The ideal candidate must have a Bachelors degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and an EIT certificate. Resumes with an emphasis in technical knowledge, ability to develop details, and ex! perience with transportation related projects will be consider! ed. Familiarity with both AASHTO and/or AREMA standards is a plus. Experience with Microstation and standard Microsoft Office Suite of products preferred. Good oral and written communication skills are essential.
Required Experience
Successful candidates should possess some relevant industry experience through internships or full time work. Good planning, organizational, and communication skills are necessary for success in this position.
