POSITION SUMMARY
Reviews medical record documentation to select and sequence the appropriate ICD-9-CM diagnosis, a! nd ICD-9-CM and HCPCS procedure codes.
Codes emergenc! y room, recurring and clinical records for multiple facilities.
Applies all appropriate coding guidelines and criteria for code selections.
Adheres to Company Coding Compliance policies and procedures for the assignment of complete, accurate, timely, and consistent codes for diagnoses and procedures.
Initiates physician query in compliance with Company policy where appropriate.
Qualifications
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Completion of an approved Coder training program.
CCS/RHIT preferred.
Emergency Department and/or Clinical Records experience preferred.
Dedicated home based work space with access to high speed cable Internet available
