In this role, the Economic Analyst participates in administering a! nd maintaining monthly and quarterly Bank surveys; interacts with the business community and general public on a regular basis; and provides assistance with ongoing projects that collect, analyze and report regional economic information and data. The position is located in Richmond, VA.

Essential Job Responsibilities in 3 main areas include but are not limited to the following:
Surveys:
Assists with administering and reporting on monthly (Manufact! uring/Services) and quarterly (Small Business Credit Condition! s/Agricultural Credit Conditions) surveys of regional businesses and lenders.
Monitors and follows up with potential and existing respondents to ensure that participant lists are kept current.
Provides reports, graphs, tables, and any related information for inclusion in pre-FOMC meeting materials and for inclusion on the Bankâs external website.
Outreach:
Assists with the Bank's public education function by responding to requests for Bank's regional data and related information or by passing information requests to the appropriate person for response.
Offers organizational support for industry roundtables and industry councils.
Beige Book:
Assists in surveying contacts in various sectors regarding current business conditions and provides written analysis for Regional Beige Book Report. Assists with written summaries of similar sectors when Richmond Fed has responsibility for National Beige Book Report.
Quali! fications/Experience (required):
Bachelor degree in economics or related field.
Minimum 1 to 3 years of relevant experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to work independently as well as in groups.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to analyze economic topics and to write clearly and concisely about them
Ability to meet firm deadlines with accurate reporting and attention to detail
Interest in and ability to serve as a back-up person for significant parts of the survey process
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to work with in-house electronic resources as appropriate
