The LPN/LVN must be committed to being alert to the patient's needs, to providing nursing services and teaching for the patient/family, and to assisting with activities of daily living. The services may be provided in a home care and/or Hospice In-Patient Unit environment. This competent and experienced health care professional should exhibit behaviors of accountability, flexibility, respect, and collaboration to help Hospice of Virginia fulfill its common purpose of creating a compassionate circle of support for our patients and families by providing the finest, individualized end-of-life care. All team members are expected to have well developed customer service skills and must demonstrate a commitment to the philosophy of Hospice Care for the terminally ill.Position Qualifications: Current and valid licensure/registration in the State of Virginia.At least one year of experience in geriatric! s or general medical/surgical nursing.Previous experience in hospice or home health nursing preferred.A demonstrated commitment to the hospice philosophy of care.Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills including active listening; ability to comprehend written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and the minimum state required liability automobile insurance or access to reliable transportation.Our Quality Standards while working on our team include actively engaging in the following: Teamwork - Our highest priority is for our employees to form and function as a cohesive team.
