Positions function in a staff capacity with substantial independen! ce to perform multiple duties related to diverse citywide programs, projects and issues, which crosses operational and administrative lines. This class represents the department head to others inside and outside the organization. The class actively influences council and/or citywide policy decisions.Supervision: • Exercised: Classification may supervise.• Received: Incumbent reporting relationship is based on department.• Note: Other reporting relationships may apply.Example of Duties: The Customer Service Division of the Department of Public Utilities is seeking a qualified, innovative and a highly motivated candidate to fill the Project Management Analyst position in the 311 Customer Care Center.
The duties include, but are not limited to the following: Performing duties which involve accountability and responsibility for making decisions on varied issues and policies affecting the 311 Customer Care operations and the public it serves. Serving on var! ious inter and intra departmental committees and task forces w! ith independent voting authority. Managing unique 311 citywide programs. Supervising 311 Customer Care projects and reporting personnel.
Maintaining application software which supports the 311 Customer Care Center with complex business applications. Working with other departments, customers, and user groups participating in the design of new computer systems, modification of existing systems, feasibility studies, and the analysis of business issues. Analyzing current business processes and requirements to identify unmet needs. Facilitating and functioning as a liaison between business and technical units.
Leading cross-functional teams involved in project development and or implementation. Researching current technology and its functions related to the 311 Customer Care Center objectives and mission. Writing technical and business documentation including CRM (Citizen/Customer Relationship Management) content and scripts. Performing system testing and quali! ty assurance monitoring.
Providing data, analysis, tracking and reporting. Coordinating the development and creation of standard operating procedures. Gathering and tracking statistical data. Performing other related duties as assigned.
