POSITION SUMMARY

Requisition Number: 52051
Schedules appointments made by physician offices and by patients who are in need of outpatient testing in an inbound call center environment that services more than 80 departments throughout Bon Secours Richmond. Notifies physicians of pre-certification requirements and performs medical necessity checks. Pre-registers patients for their upcoming visit by obtaining demographic and billing information. Explains procedure preps and understands scheduling instructions for each type of modality. Provides excellent customer service and adheres to the productivity and accuracy performance measures established for the call center.

Job Requirements

1. Excellent customer service skills on the telephone.
2. Experience in a call center or other productivity driven environmen! t preferred.
3. Knowledge of medical terminology, or exper! ience in healthcare environment preferred.
4. Proficient keyboarding skills and general PC skills.
5. Work requires ability to read, write, follow oral and written instructions, as well as communicate effectively at a
level generally acquired through completion of a high school diploma.
6. Knowledge of insurance pre-certification requirements and contract benefits. Knowledge of ICD9 coding
preferred.
